Type the hard disk number for partitioning in `Enter fixed Disk Drive Number' and press [Enter]. Caution: if the computer has many hard disks connected make sure you select the appropriate number that corresponds to P1350. 6. Create DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive' by pressing [1] and [Enter] 7. Select option `1. Create primary DOS partition' by pressing [1] and [Enter] 8. Wait for integrity check to complete 32 9. Say yes to the message `Do you wish to use the maximum available size for a primary DOS partition and make the partition active (Y/N)?' by pressing [Y] and [Enter] 10. Type the absolute or relative capacity you want and press [Enter]. If you wish only one partition then type 100%. After it is completed, a `Primary DOS partition created, drive letters changed or added' message is displayed. Then press [Esc] to return to fdisk options screen. 12. In fdisk options screen press [Esc]. Then a message is displayed, saying that you must restart your system. Press [Esc] again 13. Type [exit] and [Enter] at the MS-DOS prompt to close the window 14. Disconnect P1350 from computer and then connect it again. 15. The new partition will show inside [My Computer]. Right­click the appropriate icon and select [Format] 16. When formatting is complete P1350 will be ready to use. 33 2. 1. 4. 3 Windows 2000/XP/Vista Note: there are slight changes in this procedure depending on the operating system version. Select [Start>Control Panel>Management Tools>Computer Management] and then [Disk Management] under [Storage] section 2. In the list of connected disks locate the one that corresponds to P1350 3. Activate the disk using MBR partition table (GUID partition table is not supported) if it is not already activated. Create a new partition by right-clicking an unallocated space in the disk and select [New partition] from the menu that appears 5. Select [Primary Partition] and click [Next] to continue 34 7.
