Setting Up the Start Button 3-1 Making Windows Millennium Edition, 98, and 2000 Settings This section explains how to make settings that control which application opens when you press the scanner's Start button. You can specify one application to open automatically when you press the Start button, or you can have a window open allowing you to choose from a list of applications. Double-click the Scanners and Cameras icon. The Scanners and Cameras Properties dialog box appears. 3-2 Setting Up the Start Button 3. Make sure the scanner is turned off, and unplug the power cord. Remove the document cover from the scanner by lifting it straight up on its back edge. Slide the mounting slots on the Transparency Unit under the two installation screws attached to the scanner. Options 4-3 4. Connect the Transparency Unit's connector to the option connector on the scanner. 4-4 Options Preparing transparencies for scanning Four film holders for scanning various types of transparencies are included with this unit. For instructions on loading your transparencies into the film holders and positioning them on the scanner, go to the section listed below that matches the type of transparency you want to load. Note: Be sure to wipe the Transparency Unit glass, the scanner's document table, and the narrow window near the mounting bracket with a soft cloth before scanning transparencies.
