Printing on Card Stock or Matte Board You can use the front sheet feeder to print on white card stock or matte board up to 1. 3 mm (. 051 inch or 51 mil) thick, in the following sizes: letter, legal, or A4. You can also use the front sheet feeder to print on premium papers if necessary. Before you start, turn off the printer and remove the roll paper holder and cutter, if they're installed (see page 41 for instructions). (The printer must be on to load card stock correctly. ) 1. Open the printer cover and set the adjust lever to the !The m paper light begins flashing rapidly. 3. Place the front sheet feeder on the output tray and push it in until it snaps into place. 4. Place a sheet of card stock against the right side of the feeder, with the side you want to print on face up. 6. Slide the card stock into the printer until the leading edge is 2 to 4 inches past the small gray rollers. If print quality is not satisfactory, try setting it to the position for the next print. If you're using the front sheet feeder to print on paper rather than card stock, set the adjust lever to the m position. Close the printer cover and press the m paper button to feed the card stock into the printer. Note: If the m paper light flashes, make sure the adjust lever is set correctly, then press the m paper button again. Small gray rollers 9. Before you print, make sure you select Manual or Manual Feed Slot as the paper Source in your printer software (see page 11 for Windows or page 22 for Macintosh). When you're finished printing on card stock, make sure you return the adjust lever to the m position. Then remove the front sheet feeder by pulling it straight out. Click the Information Center icon on your desktop. Cleaning the Print Head If your printouts are unexpectedly light, or dots or lines are missing, you may need to clean the print head. This unclogs the nozzles so they can deliver ink properly. Print head cleaning uses ink, so clean it only if quality declines. This section explains how to clean the print head using the Head Cleaning utility. You can also clean the print head by holding down the H ink button on the printer for three seconds. EPSON requires a debit or a credit card number to secure the cost of the replacement printer in the event that you fail to return the defective one. If your printer is being repaired, EPSON will direct you to send your printer to EPSON or its authorized service center, where the printer will be fixed and sent back to you.
