Open the scanner unit and press y. If the print head does not move, hold down y for 6 seconds or more until it moves. If there is another expended or low-ink-level cartridge, the print head stops to indicate the cartridge with the mark. Press y repeatedly until it moves to the replacement position. Never touch the ink cartridges while the print head is moving. For best results, gently shake only the new Black ink cartridge four or five times and then unpack. The print head stops at the mark to indicate an expended or low-ink cartridge. Squeeze the tab on the ink cartridge and lift it out. G

Insert the new ink cartridge and press it down firmly. Press y again to move the print head to the ink cartridge replacement position. QQ
You do not need to shake the color ink cartridges. Use of another cord may cause fire or shock. Do not use the cord with any other equipment. Be sure your AC power cord meets the relevant local safety standard. Except as specifically explained in your documentation, do not attempt to service the printer yourself.
