Dial type ­ select analogue or ISDN connection. Setting up WAP and E-mail To enter additional settings for a data account Scroll to Settings, Y E S , Data comm. , Y E S , Data accounts, Y E S . Allow calls ­ if you want to allow incoming calls during a GPRS session, select On. IP address ­ the IP address that the phone uses when communicating with the network. If you do not enter a value, the network provides you with a temporary IP address. settings (Advanced settings) ­ these are optional. Phone number ­ the phone number of your Internet service provider. Same as for GPRS above. If you want to change access type, you have to create a new data account and select the access type you want to use. sA B 4. Enter the settings that you have received from your operator. For GPRS: access point name, user id and password. For GSM data: phone number, user id and password. Er ics No so t f n M or ob Com ile m Co erc mm ial un Us ica e tio n WAP Profile Settings Setting up WAP and E-mail GPRS and GSM Data Settings If you have selected GPRS as the access type, the Preferred service should be set to GPRS&GSM. An icon may then appear in the display telling you that GPRS is within range. If you have selected GSM data as the access type, you should select GSM only as the preferred service. This setting is valid for all data accounts. Scroll to Settings, Y E S , Data comm. , Y E S , Pref. Select GPRS&GSM or GSM only. Tip: To see the status of GPRS coverage and connection, slide the volume key up or down from standby to enter the Status menu and then scroll to GPRS. Data Counters To check how much data you have sent and received, using GPRS, scroll to Call info, Y E S , Data counters, Y E S , and select Last session or Total data. When you browse WAP pages, you use a certain WAP profile. A WAP profile is a collection of settings that determines, for example, how you connect to the mobile Internet.
