Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] WARNING FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. Owner must ensure that all players know and follow these rules for safe operation of the unit. · Do not dunk on this unit. · Do not hang from any part of the unit, including the backboard, rim, or net. · Do not slide, climb, or play on base and/or pole. [. . . ] Use two bolts (#17), four washers (#24), and two nuts (#21). Tighten securely, but do not overtighten, as this will crush tubes. Attach rear supports (#33) to pole as shown in figure 4 using bolt (#13), and capnut (#25). NOTE: It will be necessary to force the rear supports in place to line up the holes. Do this by pushing down on the rear supports and backward on the pole. Figure 4A 4 5. Lean the unit forward onto a table or sawhorse for ease of the remainder of assembly. IMPORTANT: The lower board arms (#31) are not symmetrical. One end is longer than the other, measuring from the hole near the center of the tube. Insert a plug (#3) into the shorter end of each lower board arm (#31). Attach the two lower board arms (#31) to the lower of the two sets of holes in the pole using a bolt (#12), two washers (#24), four spacers (#7), and a locknut (#21). Make sure the dimple in the tube at the hole faces inward toward the pole. Tighten fasteners securely, but do not overtighten, crushing tubes. NOTE: One hole in upper board arm is larger than the other. Insert a tube plug (#2) into this end of each upper board arm (#35), and attach the board arms to the upper pole using a bolt (#17), two washers (#24), two plastic washers (#5), and locknut (#21). Place the end cap (41) over the top of the pole. Figure 5 6. Cut an empty 2 liter bottle with scissors, as shown in Figure 6a, to use as a funnel. Insert 2 liter bottle into fill hole in pole ballast front #57. With pole ballast leaning at a 45º angle fill with dry sand until sand is level with bottom of fill hole when pole ballast is standing on end. Note: You will occasionally need to stand pole ballast upright and shake to allow sand to settle. Use dry sand, do not add any water to sand. Fill pole ballast rear #58 as described for pole ballast front. Figure 6a Figure 6b IMPORTANT!Next, attach the clamp assembly to the pole as follows: wrap slider shim (#36) around middle pole section (space in shim must face rear of the pole). Then attach both clamp halves to pole around shim. NOTE: Clamp half (#14) has the cutout for the lever, see Figure 7a, and must be on right side of pole as shown in Figure 7b. [. . . ] For more stability (pull-over load and blow-over force), sand is recommended. Figure 13 17. Slide the two board pads (#47) on the bottom two corners of backboard. Checking your pole system: STORAGE If you know the unit won't be used or if high winds or severe weather is forecast, prepare the unit for moving as described in steps 1 through 3 above, and move to an area protected from the wind and free from personal property and overhead power lines. This will reduce the risk of the unit blowing over, which could cause property damage or personal injury. [. . . ]
