B) FRAMES AND RUNGS Inspect all equipment and test all load-bearing parts, including the rungs, by gradually applying full adult weight of 180-200 pounds to them. Be sure to test all structural pieces, including swings, trapeze rings, nets, ladders, ropes, dowels, and hardware. Test all parts in the manner of their intended use. Test with due care, holding on with both hands and both feet so that the test person is always secure. Test at the beginning of the usage season and monthly during the usage season. Our equipment is designed to be used by children and to hold the weights of children. With the exception of the Parent's Swing used in accordance with its instructions, our equipment is not designed for adult climbing, swinging, or any other use. The application of adult weight to the equipment as outlined above is a test of safety and strength of the parts. [. . . ] However, because children may deliberately jump from a moving swing, the shock absorbing material should extend in the front and rear of a swing a minimum distance of 2 times the height of the pivot point measured from a point directly beneath the pivot point supporting structure. This information is intended to assist in comparing the relative shock-absorbing properties of various materials. No particular material is recommended over another. However, each material is only effective when properly maintained. [. . . ]
