[. . . ] Remove the lamp connector from the bagged parts provided. Remove the UV-500C from its protective plastic bag. Connect the UV lamp to the lamp connector knob (See Figure 1) Clean the lamp with the alcohol swab provided. (See Figure 2) NOTE: Dirt and fingerprints will reduce lamp output and effectiveness. [. . . ] Avoid touching the glass portion of the Page 2 lamp with your hands. 10. Slide the filter drawer out of the base. Remove one the four filters from its plastic bag and place it in the drawer with arrow/carbon side up. Slide the filter drawer with filter back into the base unit. NOTE: The positive catch eliminates vibration and ensures proper function of the filter. Unwind the power cord from underneath the unit and insert plug into any standard 120volt outlet. Turn the speed control knob clockwise to turn the unit on. After the fan has started, the LED lights will show a continuous "GREEN" color and the LCD will indicate 365 days left for the lamp and 90 days for the filter. See Figure 7) Lamp LED Filter LED Motor Fan Speed Control Knob Figure 7 NOTE: If the LCD display reads differently use the point of a pen or paper clip to press the "reset" button beside the LED for either the lamp or the filter to reset the days as shown above. Place the UV-500C in the desired area; plug the power cord into a standard 120-volt wall receptacle. Turn the speed control knob clockwise to turn on the unit and to adjust the motor/fan speed to the desired airflow. Check with your local waste management authority for local disposal or recycling requirements. Close the access door and install the access door screw. Plug the power cord back into the wall receptacle or restore power to the UV-500C. Use the point of a pen or paper clip to press the "reset" button beside the lamp LED. Lamp LED will turn from "RED" to "GREEN" and the display will say "LAMP: 365 DAYS". Pull the drawer out at the base of the unit and remove the old filter. Remove the filter from its plastic bag and place the filter into the tray of the drawer with the black carbon facing up. Use the point of a pen or paper clip to press the "reset" button beside the filter LED. Filter LED will turn from "RED" to "GREEN" and the display will say "FILTER: 90 DAYS".
