[. . . ] The UV-500C is equipped with a three speed control to allow the user to adjust the airflow through the unit from 30 cfm to 70 cfm. Any speed is effective in rooms up to 500 square feet. The UV-500C is equipped with a circuit board to monitor the operation of the UV lamp and the operation time until the filter or lamp needs to be changed. Remove the lamp from the top carton pad. [. . . ] The LED beside the filter indicator will turn "RED" and the display will say "FILTER: CHANGE" when it is time to replace the filter. Replace your UV-AireTM Air Purifying System lamp once a year to maintain the lamps maximum output intensity. The lamp should operate continuously for maximum lamp life and light effectiveness. REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES REPLACING THE UV LAMP VERY IMPORTANT: Turn the speed control switch on unit to `OFF' position and unplug unit from outlet or turn off power to the unit before replacing the UV lamp. Loosen the screw on the lamp access door on the back of the UV-500C. Open the door to expose the lamp connection. Never operate the UV-AireTM Air Purifying System with the UV lamp access door open. Avoid touching the glass portion of the Page 3 lamp with your hands. 3. Disconnect the lamp connection, then rotate lamp-mounting knob counter-clockwise and pull the lamp out of the unit. Remove lamp carefully, by un-plugging the lamp from the lamp-mounting knob. (See Figure 12) NOTE: When replacing the lamp, always wipe off lamp with the supplied alcohol wipe before installing. Plug the new lamp onto the lamp-mounting knob. Guide the other end of the lamp through the hole in the UV chamber. Secure the lamp into position by rotating the lamp-mounting knob clockwise.
