[. . . ] Getting Ready Using the Camera Advanced Features Settings Software Installation This manual will show you how to use your FUJIFILM DIGITAL CAMERA FinePix F700 correctly. Press the "MENU/OK" button to confirm the setting. 3 13 1 00 2 0 AF AREA Hold down the "C-AF" button 1 and press "fg" to move the ":" (target point) 2 to the desired focusing position. 3 Release the "C-AF" button. !G The specified custom white balance is retained until it is reset. G After you take the picture, you should check the "Color (White Balance)" setting for the image. i Set "IMAGE DISP. " in the SET­UP menu to "PREVIEW" (P. 70). i Set the Power switch to "w" (P. 25). Advanced Features 1 0 2 0 Near Far MF (Manual Focus) 1 Hold down the "C-AF" button and 2 press "g" to adjust the focus. "c": Moves the focus further away. "d": Moves the focus closer. AF AREA You can change the position on the screen where the camera focuses. Use this feature when you have composed your shot using a tripod and then want to change the focusing position. AF (CENTER) The camera focuses on the center of the screen. In B photography mode, you can use the Photometry/Focus mode button to select "AUTO (automatic recognition)" or "AF(CENTER)" (P. 23). N Mastering Manual Focusing N Use a tripod to prevent the image from becoming unfocused when the camera moves. AUTO The camera automatically recognizes the subject in the central area of the screen and adjusts the focus accordingly (P. 23). N One-touch AF Function N 1 0 2 0 Bebeep When you select area-selection AF AREA or manual focus, the LCD monitor cannot be switched off. Use this function when you want to manually focus a shot quickly. 1 Hold down the "C-AF" button and 2 press the shutter button down halfway to focus the shot using Auto Focus. AF (CENTER) The camera focuses on the center of the screen. This is a useful feature when used for shots using AF/AE lock (P. 56). 54 55 PHOTOGRAPHY MENU PHOTOGRAPHY MENU j AUTO BRACKETING In shots composed in this way, the camera may be unable to focus on the subject (the 2 women in this case). Set the focus mode to "AF (CENTER)" and take the shot using AF/AE lock. N, M, <, >: See P. 54. USING AF/AE LOCK 1 1 Use this feature to photograph the same image with different exposure settings. Auto bracketing automatically shoots 3 consecutive frames, one of which is correctly exposed while the remaining two are underexposed and overexposed respectively by a set amount. h The three available settings are ±1/3 EV, ±2/3 EV and ±1 EV. See P. 101 for more information on EVs. !G If 2 Move the camera slightly so that one of the subjects is in the AF frame. the underexposed or overexposed frame is outside the camera's control range, the shot is not taken with the specified setting increments.
