[. . . ] Getting Ready Basic Photography Advanced Photography Advanced Features Playback OWNER'S MANUAL This manual will show you how to use your FUJIFILM DIGITAL CAMERA FinePix S2 Pro correctly. Please follow the instructions carefully. Settings Connection BL00140-200 (1) Warning To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. EC Declaration of Conformity CAUTION This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. [. . . ] Set the Quality to "High". !G When you display a CCD-RAW image, the frame number is highlighted. G "5" is displayed as the resolution. 72 73 w COLOR/TONE/SHARPNESS/FUNCTION LOCK SHARPNESS Use this setting to soften or sharpen the outlines in an image and to adjust the quality of the photographed image. h Factory default setting: Press the "w " button to switch between functions. Display Name STANDARD Description STD This setting applies the optimum level of sharpness for normal shots. HARD Color Tone shapness Function lock This setting sharpens the outlines in an image and is best for images of subjects such as buildings or text where clarity is important. COLOR Use the procedure below to set the density of the color used when images are shot. h Factory default setting: Display Name STD OFF Sharpness processing is not applied in this setting. Use this setting for images that will undergo image processing for use in commercial printing. STANDARD Description h If you want to view or print the image data directly, do not select "OFF". This setting sets the standard color density. FUNCTION LOCK This feature allows you to lock the function menu settings so that they cannot be changed (to prevent accidental misuse). HIGH This setting provides a higher color density than the "STD" setting. h Factory default setting: Display Name OFF Description 3 Advanced Photography ORG This setting specifies a lower color density than the "STD" setting. Use this setting for images that will undergo image processing for use in commercial printing. OFF Releases the function lock. B/W This setting converts the colors in the photographed image to black and white. ON h If you want to view or print the image data directly, do not select "ORG". Sets the function lock. The settings cannot be changed once the function lock is applied. To change the settings, first press the "F4" button to cancel function lock. TONE Use the procedure below to set the contrast when images are shot. h Factory default setting: Display Name STD STANDARD Description This setting sets the contrast for photographed images to the standard level. HARD Use this setting for images that will undergo image processing for use in commercial printing. This setting provides a higher level of contrast than the "STD" setting. This setting specifies a lower contrast than the "STD" setting. Use this setting for images that will undergo image processing for use in commercial printing. ORG h If you want to view or print the image data directly, do not select "ORG". 74 75 4 AdvancedPlayback Features USING THE FUNCTION MENU w HISTOGRAM 1 10 2 0 Unlock the 4-direction button 1 and press "d" or "c " 2 to select the frame for which the histogram is to be displayed. You can use this menu to work with a displayed image (histogram display, erase, protect) and switch between multi-frame and single-frame playback. 1 2 Switch the camera on and press the " d " button to select Playback mode. If the Auto Power Off function has switched the camera off, press the shutter button down halfway to switch it back on. The functions change each time the " w " button is pressed. 2 The histogram display changes each time you press the "F1" button. Histograms can be displayed for both playback images and preview images. G If "x" does not appear on the rear display panel, press !GA the "w" button to change the screen. histogram is a graph that shows the distribution of brightness in an image. Protected images cannot be erased by the "Erasing single-frame" or "Erase all" function. However, the "Format" function erases all files. 1 Unlock the 4-direction button. 1 Press the "F2" button to display the erase confirmation screen. Unlock the 4-direction button. 2 ! If the battery leaks and fluid gets into your eyes or comes into contact with your skin or clothing, this can cause injury or loss of eyesight.
