[. . . ] Getting Ready Using the Camera Advanced Features · Photography · Playback OWNER'S MANUAL This manual will show you how to use your FUJIFILM DIGITAL CAMERA FinePix Z3 correctly. Please follow the instructions carefully. · Movie Settings Camera Connection Software Installation Appendices Troubleshooting BL00546-200(1) Warning WARNINGS To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the AC power adapter to rain or moisture. The AC power adapter should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the AC power adapter. CAUTION The LCD MODE function is disabled during the Highspeed shooting mode, Playback mode, and Movie mode. 100 How to use the SET-UP menu (p. 94) LCD BRIGHTNESS Use this function to adjust the LCD monitor brightness. LCD BRIGHTNESS FORMAT Initialize (format) the xD-Picture Card or internal memory for use with the camera. The indicator moves to the + to display the LCD monitor brightly or to the ­ to darken the LCD monitor. B Press MENU/OK to confirm the setting. A Press p or q to select OK. Settings B Pressing MENU/OK initializes the xDPicture Card or internal memory. CAUTION · The Format function erases all the frames (files), including protected frames (files). Back up important frames (files) onto your PC or another media. · Do not open the battery cover during formatting, as formatting will be interrupted. Continued Q 101 U SET-UP How to use the SET-UP menu (p. 94) AUTO POWER OFF When this function is active and the camera remains unused for 2 or 5 minutes, it turns camera off. Use this function when you want to get the maximum possible running time from your battery. CAUTION The Auto power off function is disabled during automatic playback (p. 71), and when a printer or a PC connection (p. 106, 117) is being used. TIME DIFFERENCE Use this function when traveling to destinations in different time zones. This function sets a time difference relative to the date and time currently set. When this setting is enabled, the specified time difference is applied when pictures are taken. 1 Use Time difference function. SET - UP ENGLISH AUTO POWER OFF 2 MIN TIME DIFFERENCE HOME BACKGROUND COLOR LOCAL VIDEO SYSTEM RESET MEMO To restore power to the camera To take pictures, close the lens cover completely and then reopen it (p. 21). To play back pictures, close the lens cover completely and then press w for about 1 second (p. 21). Press n or o to change between N HOME and I LOCAL. To set the time difference, select I LOCAL. Using Automatic playback function (p. 71) together, you can have fun with folks. D Close the lens cover and set the camera in the cradle. E Press POWER on the cradle to turn the camera on. Video (yellow) To terminals Audio (white) A/V cable (included) A Plug the A/V cable (included) into the A/V OUT (Audio/Visual output) socket on the cradle. Camera Connection Camera Connection B Plug the other end of the cable into the audio/video input socket on the TV. AC-5VC C Plug the AC power adapter connector into the DC IN 5V socket on the cradle and then plug the AC power adapter into the power outlet. CAUTION · Plug the A/V cable (included) and the AC power adapter correctly and push them in each terminal. · Plug the camera securely and vertically into the cradle connecting plug. · See p. 130 for the information of the AC power adapter. MEMO · When connecting the A/V cable (included) to TV, the LCD monitor is turned off. · The image quality for movie playback is lower than for still images. · When connecting to a TV, even if you adjust the volume from the PLAYBACK VOLUME, the TV volume cannot be changed. [. . . ] This could cause a fire or electric shock. Do not cover or wrap the camera or the AC power adapter in a cloth or blanket. This can cause heat to build up and distort the casing or cause a fire. 162 CAUTION When you are cleaning the camera or you do not plan to use the camera for an extended period, remove the battery and disconnect and unplug the AC power adapter.
