D Press the request button for crushed ice. Dispensing ends, when the button is released. Note: Release the ice dispensing button, when the receptacle is filled approx half way. Ice in the discharge may cause the receptacle to overflow or block the discharge. D D Detach the rest. Remove the sieve and pull out the water capture bowl. Empty the water capture bowl and replace it. Insert the sieve tip the rest back up again. D D 51 Removing and cleaning the ice cube container If ice cubes have not been dispensed for a prolonged period, they will shrink, have a stale taste and stick together. Locking the ice and water dispenser In order to secure the ice and water dispenser against unintentional use activate the childproof lock. D Keep the lock button on the ice and water dispenser control panel pressed for 3 seconds. It is not possible to actuate buttons on the ice and water dispenser. For resetting operation of the buttons: D Keep the lock button on the ice and water dispenser control panel pressed for 3 seconds. D Lift the front ice cube container and pull it out. A full ice cube container is heavy! D Pull out the container, empty and clean with lukewarm water. Thoroughly rub the container and endless screw transportation mechanism (Agitation Function) dry so that new ice cubes cannot freeze to them. Push the ice cube container all the way back onto the supports until it locks into position. D D D If the container cannot be pushed all the way back, twist the screw conveyor in the container. Ice cube production continues. 52 How to save energy D Thawing the appliance The appliance starts to defrost automatically. Install the appliance in a cool, well ventilated room, but not in direct sunlight and not near a heat source (radiator, cooker, etc. ). Allow warm food and drinks to cool down before placing in the appliance!Thaw frozen food by placing it in the refrigerator.
