INSTALLING FLEET COMMAND UNDER WINDOWS 2000 OR XP
This guide is for those of you who have the original Fleet Command game CD (not the "Classic" version),  and need to install it on either Windows 2000 or XP,  without having a copy of the game already pre-installed or another partition/OS available.  [. . . ] [Click "Start",  then "Run",  type in "regedit" and click "OK"] 5) Search through the registry to find the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Jane's Combat Simulations\Fleet Command\1. 0

6) You will see a line that reads: "cdInstallPath". In the "Data" column you will see the path on your hard drove from which you installed the game. YOU MUST CHANGE THIS TO THE CD-ROM DRIVE LETTER THAT YOU WILL KEEP THE CD IN WHILE YOU PLAY THE GAME. Example: You copied the game to "C:\temp" folder and installed it from there,  and wanted to run the game from your "D" drive (a CD-ROM drive). You would see "C:\temp" in the data column for the cdInstallPath.  [. . . ] Congratulations,  you have now installed Fleet Command on your system!
