It can be used up to 10 meters (32 feet) from the chartplotter and does not need to be pointed directly at your chartplotter. The remote operates on two AAA batteries (not included). To replace the batteries, use a small Phillips screwdriver to open the access cover on the rear panel. Use alkaline batteries for best results. Ensure your chartplotter has the current software, available at www. garmin. com. Getting Started Use one of the three pairing buttons to pair your remote with a specific chartplotter.
