You can duplicate a tape, removing scenes from the original that you don't want to record on your copy. You may find it easier to edit when the On-Screen Display (OSD) is on your TV screen. Press the DSP button to view the OSD on your TV. The OSD shows you the status and Tape Counter of both decks at all times. The OSD does not record on to your videotape. Make sure the Auto Play feature in the Video Menu is set to OFF. This simplifies editing by preventing the tapes from playing each time they are inserted. To edit out scenes from a single tape. POWER COPY TAPE v RESET 6 0 x Insert a blank tape into Deck 2 and the prerecorded tape into Deck 1. Press the Copy Tape button. MUTE CTR MEMORY UP PREV DOWN NEXT LCV 1 REW STOP/EJECT PLAY/LOAD 2 REW STOP/EJECT PLAY/LOAD SLOW FWD PAUSE FWD PAUSE Just before the unwanted scene begins: Press the Deck 2 Pause button to pause the recording. The Copy Tape indicator will blink. MENU SAVE ESC SOURCE REC SOURCE REC TV VIEW INDEX MARK TRACKING SLOW SPEED v Avoid leaving the deck in Record Pause for more than 3 minutes. Your Dual-Deck VCR will Auto Stop after 5 minutes in Record Pause to prevent excessive tape wear. If you desire, you can press the Deck 1 Fast Forward (FWD) button to Picture Scan to the end of the unwanted segment. Press the Deck 1 Play button to end Picture Scan. If you have previously set Index Marks on the prerecorded tape, simply use the Index Scan/Search Menu to position the tape at the next scene. Press the Copy Tape button to end editing. Copy Tape will resume when you continue recording. 18 Editing Multiple Scenes Onto One Tape Your Dual-Deck VCR gives you the capability of duplicating tapes and removing scenes from the original that you don't want to record on your copy. To simplify editing, first turn off Auto Play.
