Simply press and hold the fuel-gauge switch to observe the LED color on the fuel-gauge indicator. GREEN ORANGE/RED/ Audible "Beep" : Ready to jump-start : Immediately recharge your SecureStartTM and replace 13 pieces of AA Alkaline batteries at the same time STEP 4: Charge your SecureStartTM by using car adaptor or wall adaptor (not provided) immediately. [. . . ] Rotate clamp slightly to ensure a good connection. 3 5. Turn vehicle ignition switch ON and start the engine. After engine is started, leave the cable clamps of SecureStart connected for 3 minutes to allow a top up charge of the SecureStartTM in case of reuse within short time. Disconnect the Black negative (-) cable clamp first and place it to its storage position in your SecureStartTM. ONLY after removing and storing the Black negative (-) cable clamp, disconnect the Red positive (+) cable clamp last from the vehicle battery positive (+) terminal and place it to its storage position in your SecureStartTM. It is mandatory to recharge your SecureStartTM immediately with wall adaptor (not provided) or car adaptor for at least 4 cumulative hours. Permanent (float/trickle) plugged-in charging is highly recommended. SecureStartTM is allowed to crank for maximum 5 times between full charges with car adaptor or wall adaptor (not provided). 4. IMPORTANT Read All Instructions And Safety Warnings Before Using SecureStartTM Warning / Safety Information Read and follow all instructions in this manual before using the SecureStartTM. Follow all instructions published by the automobile and car battery manufacturers, especially the procedure of jump-starting of a car. NEVER ALLOW cable clamps ("+" & "-") to TOUCH each other. Cable clamps are "live" at all times, and will spark once they touch, SecureStartTM will generate heat too. Always ensure clamps are stowed securely in clamp holders when not connected for jump-starting. ALWAYS VERIFY car battery positive terminal (RED "+") before connecting cable clamps to battery. Handle SecureStartTM and car battery with care while jump-starting a car. Car batteries generate hydrogen gas during normal battery operation, such gas may cause explosion with a spark. Care should be taken to ensure sparks are not generated near the car battery. Sparks occur when connecting or disconnecting leads. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries. Keep hands and cables clear of fan blades, belts pulleys and other moving parts when working near a running engine. Remove jewelry, watch and loose clothing when near the engine compartment. Take extra care to protect eyes during jump-starting. [. . . ] The TMF® power pack contained within your unit is capable of generating very high current. This current may cause severe burns or personal injury. Use your SecureStartTM to jump-start cars that run with lead-acid battery only.
