[. . . ] Permanent (float/trickle) plugged-in charging is highly recommended. SecureStartTM is allowed to crank for maximum 5 times between full charges with car adaptor or wall adaptor (not provided). To ensure successful instant jump-starting, check the fuel-gauge indicator monthly. Recharge your SecureStartTM immediately when the Orange or Red light is on. Recharging of SecureStartTM is required monthly and is more frequently during summer when temperature exceeds 29°C (85°F). [. . . ] Follow all instructions published by the automobile and car battery manufacturers, especially the procedure of jump-starting of a car. NEVER ALLOW cable clamps ("+" & "-") to TOUCH each other. Cable clamps are "live" at all times, and will spark once they touch, SecureStartTM will generate heat too. Always ensure clamps are stowed securely in clamp holders when not connected for jump-starting. ALWAYS VERIFY car battery positive terminal (RED "+") before connecting cable clamps to battery. Handle SecureStartTM and car battery with care while jump-starting a car. Car batteries generate hydrogen gas during normal battery operation, such gas may cause explosion with a spark. Care should be taken to ensure sparks are not generated near the car battery. Sparks occur when connecting or disconnecting leads. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries. Keep hands and cables clear of fan blades, belts pulleys and other moving parts when working near a running engine. Remove jewelry, watch and loose clothing when near the engine compartment. Take extra care to protect eyes during jump-starting. Do not charge the SecureStartTM in wet or moist locations through the DC charging jack. By Car Adaptor - 6 hours accumulatively or permanently plugged-in: Plug the car adaptor into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. Plug the other end of the car adaptor cable jack into the DC charging socket on SecureStartTM. Charging will start only when the engine is ignited. During charging your SecureStart with the car adaptor, the green LED on the car adaptor will remain on showing that there is power from the cigarette lighter socket. To maximize SecureStartTM performance, permanent plugged-in charging is recommended. 5. 6. Plug into the jack here Plug into the cigarette Lighter socket of vehicle 7. On-Charge Display with car adaptor may change color randomly due to fluctuation of alternator voltage. [. . . ] Use only the car adaptor or wall adaptor supplied with your SecureStartTM for charging.
