MEDIAEDGE® is a multi-channel, multilocation delivery system of high- or standard-definition (HD or SD) video and digital signage using standard TCP/ IP networks and HD/SD display devices. Comprised of server, encoder, client software, and SMIL-compliant set-top box (STB) components, this flexible and modular system is ideal for point-of-sale, corporate, and other video-retrieval and digital-signage applications. In a video-on-demand (VOD) application, users select video clips stored on the MEDIAEDGE-SVS4 server for viewing, either from a dynamically updated menu, or through direct channel number selection via a remote control. For live broadcasting, the MEDIAEDGESTB4 system can utilize the real-time capabilities of its encoding devices to transmit live external SD and HD video sources such as cameras, VCRs, and DVD players as professional-quality MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 (H. 264) streams to multiple clients with minimal delay. The MEDIAEDGE-LEB60 encoder is capable of sending live video streams to MEDIAEDGE systems. The video source for the LEB needs to be analog composite or S-Video. The LEB-60 only supports SD resolution. Three Streaming Modes The MEDIAEDGE-STB4 system lets you deliver video and signage content in three ways: on-demand, scheduled playback, and live broadcast. Working as a separate solution or in conjunction with a MEDIAEDGE server, it encodes any analog video source into an MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 output, and can instantly rebroadcast the stream via an internal server built into the unit's circuitry. You can also use the MEDIAEDGE-LEB60 encoder to process video from a remote location, such as a video library, and then deliver the content to a MEDIAEDGE server based within a datacenter. The content is recorded and then ready for distribution across a MEDIAEDGE network. As well, you can combine a MEDIAEDGE-LEB60 encoder, server, and software clients and/or STBs.
