Never use the appliance if it, the cutting foils or the blade blocks are visibly damaged. Do not completely immerse the appliance in water. The appliance may only come into contact with water once it is disconnected from the power adapter and the power adapter is no longer in the socket. 1 ENGLISH 3 OVERVIEW _________________________ _ Dear Customer, Congratulations on the purchase of your MS 7040 men's shaver. [. . . ] Generally, you should only charge the batteries when they are completely discharged. The LED battery indicator C indicates the remaining battery charge levels 100%, 80%, 60%, 40 %, 20%. When the "20%" level LED is flashing, the batteries are almost flat and you should charge the appliance. 1 6 ENGLISH OPERATION________________________ You can use the appliance with the adapter connected to the wall socket or in battery mode. Trimming Use the extended trimmer for longer hair on your face and neck as well as on the beard, moustache or sideburns. 1 Push the On/Off switch B to switch on the appliance. 2 Push up the trimmer E completely until it latches in. 3 After use, push the trimmer E back down. 4 Switch off the appliance with the On/Off switch B and put the plastic cap back on. Hints and tips Shaving 1 Remove the plastic protective cap J. Caution The foils and blade blocks must not be damaged. Replace any damaged parts before shaving. 2 Push the On/Off switch B to switch on the appliance. 3 Shave with slow, gentle movements against the direction of beard growth. Hold the appliance at a 90° angle to your skin. Caution Always pull the skin taut when shaving difficult areas such as your lower jaw. Always cut against the natural direction of beard growth. In the case of thick or copious beard growth which cannot be removed by just one shave, do one quick shave and then a more thorough second one. Do not press too hard as you may damage the foils. 4 After use, switch off the appliance with the On/Off switch B and put the plastic cap back on. 1 ENGLISH 7 INFORMATION ____________________ _ Cleaning and care General information The appliance must be cleaned regularly so that you can continue to enjoy its top performance and optimum results. Clean the housing with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. 4 To remove all hair, hold the blade blocks G under running water and switch on the appliance. Cleaning with water 1 Push the On/Off switch B to switch off the appliance. Caution The appliance must be disconnected from the power adapter. 2 To remove the foil frame, push one of the side lock buttons F with your thumb to lift up this side of the foil frame. Then push the second button at the other side and lift up the foil frame. 3 Rinse out the foil frame under running water. 5 Gently shake out the remaining moisture and then dry off the appliance with a clean cloth. 6 Replace the foil frame A and let it latch into place.
