It also provides superb cinema-quality audio playback ­ in stereo or with digital multi-channel sound ­ depending on the type of DVD and the HiFI system or stereo television. Other features of DVD video include the choice of audio channel and language, choice of subtitle language, and various camera recording angles. In addition to DVDs, your DVD player can also play MP3, video and audio CDs. [. . . ] This depends on the processing and burning software used. You can control and direct playback of the S-VCD/VCD using the menu of the DVD player on the television screen. You cannot select some of the functions on the DVD player when you are playing an S-VCD/VCD. This depends on how the S-VCD/VCD was created. These are: Video strobe, slow motion, A-B repeat, camera angle, marking scenes. A search at 20 times normal speed is possible, but repeat functions are only possible track by track. Depending on how they were created, S-VCDs can have various subtitles and dubbed languages. Activating PBC (playback) PBC is a navigation option for S-VCD/VCD. PBC information is burned onto the disc when it is made. PBC and the program info on the CD enable the navigation options. If a disc has PBC »PBC« can be seen in the display. If PBC is switched off, the disc behaves like a normal CD in terms of navigation (with track structure). 1 To deactivate the PBC function, press » . « during playback. Selecting titles or chapters If an S-VCD/VCD has multiple titles or tracks, you can select them. If an SVCD/VCD has multiple titles or tracks, you can see them in the info line. 1 Press » . « to see the contents of the S-VCD/VCD. ­ If the S-VCD/VCD has a title menu it will appear on the screen. 2 Select the appropriate track and section with »1 . . . 0« and confirm with »OK« or Use » 5« and » 6« to navigate through the selected menu. 3 Use »x« (RETURN) to switch back one menu level. 20 MP3 CD PLAYBACK MP3 CD features _____________________________________________________ MP3 CDs contain only music recordings. They can be played in the normal manner on a HiFi system. Before playback Preparation 1 Switch on the television and select the channel for the DVD player. ­ With this you can see the DVD player's displays.
