Save Press the display key. 53 Operating the Gigaset S800A base answering machine Information about ring delay In Automatic mode, the following applies for ring delay: u If there are no new messages, the answering machine answers a call after 18 seconds. u If there are new messages, the answering machine answers a call after 10 seconds. When operating remotely ( page 54), you can tell after approx. 15 seconds that there are no new messages (otherwise the answering machine would have already accepted your call). There are no call charges if you hang up now. Operating when on the move (remote operation) You can check and activate your answering machine from any other telephone (hotel, pay phone etc. ), or initiate ringback from the answering machine with an SMS.
