NOTE In this mode, movement of the mouse input and keyboard focus is faster but battery charging is not possible. 36 Using Smart Station Connecting and Using Devices by Type Check the proper instructions for the device you will be using. Mobile devices should be purchased separately. NOTE Before connecting to your mobile device, check that the Mobile Control icon is found on the far right side of the taskbar. 1. Connect your Android smartphone to the Smart Station monitor using the mobile cable. Android smartphones * When your mobile device has a Micro USB port Wired connection Wireless connection (for Series 7 only) 2. After the connection is established, Charging/Control Mode will be set as default. In this mode, it may take a while to shift the keyboard and mouse pointer focus to the smartphone. 3. To move the keyboard and mouse pointer focus to the smartphone, press the mouse wheel or the shortcut keys (Alt + S) on the keyboard. The mouse cursor will move to the smartphone. You can now use the keyboard and mouse on your smartphone. NOTE • If the keyboard or mouse input focus is on the mobile device, the PC cannot be controlled using the same input device (keyboard or mouse). MOBILE MOBILE • To move the keyboard and mouse input focus back to the PC, press the center button on the mouse or press the shortcut keys (Alt+S) on the keyboard. 4. To move the keyboard and mouse pointer focus to the smartphone more quickly, doubleclick the Mobile Control icon on the far right side of the taskbar and activate Fast Control Mode. In this mode, shifting the keyboard and mouse pointer focus is faster and the battery charging function is not available. NOTE The shortcut keys can be customized. For details on changing the shortcut keys, refer to "Changing the Settings"(page 40). USB 37 Using Smart Station Android tablet * When your mobile device has a normal USB port Mobile devices should be purchased separately. Wired connection Wireless connection (for Series 7 only) NOTE •    If your tablet has a Micro USB port, you can use the same connection method as the Android smartphone. For details on changing the shortcut keys, refer to "Changing the Settings"(page 40). USB Connection Kit (Micro USB to Normal USB) 39 Using Smart Station Changing the Settings 1. Right-click on the Mobile Control icon on the far right side of the taskbar. The following context menu items will appear. Changing the position of a PC (Mobile Control) When connected to two PCs 1. Connect the primary PC to the Smart Station monitor using the provided USB cable or wireless-connection dongle. 2. Connect the secondary PC to the Smart Station monitor using the mobile cable and USB Connection Kit (Micro USB to Normal USB). 2. Select Options from the context menu items. You can change the settings as required. You can also customize the shortcut keys. NOTE For details on how to connect to two PCs, refer to the section "Connecting to two PCs" (page 39). 3. After the connection is established, [ ] Fast Control Mode will be set as default. 4. If two PCs are connected to the product, the option Position of Other PC will be enabled and the position of the secondary PC can be changed. NOTE • If two PCs are connected to the product, only the primary PC can be used to change the position of the secondary PC. • If two PCs are connected to the product, the secondary PC cannot connect to a source device through a USB cable or wireless connection. 40 Using Smart Station To Transfer files between two PCs(Desktop - Note PC) Transfer files between two PCs, such as a desktop PC and a notebook PC, conveniently by dragging and dropping the files. Using the Mobile-device Holder You can use the mobile-device holder provided in the package when connecting a mobile device to the product. Using the mouse buttons to work with a mobile device • Left button: Select a menu. • Right button: Close the current menu (go to the last menu). • Middle button: Perform two different functions according to the menu setting. -- If "Use Mouse Middle Button" is enabled under Preference > Switching Method, the middle mouse button switches the input source between the PC and mobile device.
