Operation
To select th e proper pin, booster , and too l equipme nt for th e app licatio n, ref er to th e Selector Chart in th e kit box lid.

1. NEVER atte m pt to fasten at an angle to the w ork surface. NEVER faste n through a predrill ed hole unless adequate guidance is provid ed 3. NEVER fasten int o a spalied area on concrete. NEVER mak e fastening s in an explosive or f lamm able at mosphere.
5. NEVER attempt to fasten into very hard or brittle materi als, such as cast iron, glazed til e, surface-hardened or high-tensile-st rengt h steel, glass block, live rc face brick, or hollow t ile. NEVER fasten to concrete closer th an 3 inches from an unsupport ed edge or
corner, or into steel closer than
'/ 2inch from
an unsupported edge or corner,
UNLESS a special guard, jig, or f ixture is used or the specif ic app lication is approved.
10. KEEP boosters of differe nt types segregated and clearly ident ifi ed.
11 . ONLY use aut henti c HILTI f asteners, boosters, and part s in your tool.

How to change the piston and guide Disassembly

1. Lift the end of th e annular spring and rotate tow ard t he top of th e tool. Pull th e stop back and out t o remove it.

Separate th e baseplate f rom th e piston sleeve.

Incli ne the baseplate and th e gu ide wi ll slide out. NOTE: If it does not slide out freely , push it out of the baseplate w it h t he piston .

Pry off t he shear cl ip w it h the point of a fastener. If th e shear cl ip is damaged, it must be replaced.

Insert th e guid e int o th e baseplate. Slide th e piston sleeve/ baseplate assembly int o th e to ol. The guide groove in th e assem bly must be aligned w it h th e opening fo r th e sto p on th e t ool.
