Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not touch the electrical contacts in the stand. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. Do not operate the kettle when it is empty, to avoid damaging the heating element. [. . . ] Unplug the kettle when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the kettle to cool before cleaning. If the supply cord is damaged, return the kettle to the store where you purchased it and have the cord replaced by a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not fill the kettle lower than the minimum level of the water gauge, nor to overfill the kettle. KNOW YOUR KETTLE Warning: Do not insert any foreign objects or allow any liquid spilling to the Power Connector Hole. BEFORE USING YOUR KETTLE If you are using the kettle for the first time, clean your kettle by boiling a full kettle of water twice and then discarding the water. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft damp cloth. USING YOUR KETTLE 1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the stand and open the lid. The water level should be between the MAX and MIN marks. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. CAUTION: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected. Move the On/Off switch to the ON position (indicated by the symbol "I"). The kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled. NOTE: Ensure that the switch is not obstructed and the lid is firmly closed. The kettle will not turn off if the switch cannot move or if the lid is open. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water. Be careful when pouring the water as boiling water will scald. NOTE: After removing the kettle, there may be some water on the surface of the stand. This is condensation from the steam that causes the kettle to automatically switch off after boiling. This is normal and should not be a cause for alarm.
