[. . . ] The Q7750A provides C-Bus (9600 baud and 1M baud) and LONWORKS® (78k baud) communication interfaces. It also maps user selectable Excel 10 subsystem datapoints into C-Bus points with a full set of point attributes, including user addresses. NOTE: LED 7 is used to display LONWORKS® network activity. In the case of the C7750A1005, it flickers when data is transmitted or received, but in the case of the C7750A2003, it flickers only while data is being received. Communications Via LONWORKS® The Q7750A uses a transformer-coupled communications port with encoded data presented to controllers and devices on the LONWORKS® at 78K bits per second. The LONWORKS® is insensitive to polarity, eliminating installation errors due to miswiring. The maximum allowed number of nodes per LONWORKS® is 60. With the addition of a Q7751A Router, the maximum allowed number of nodes increases to 120 or 60 per LONWORKS® segment. The recommended wire for the LONWORKS® will level IV, 22 AWG (Belden part number 9D220150) or plenum rated Level IV, 22 AWG (Belden part number (H2201504) non-shielded, twisted pair, solid conductor wire. This simplifies system installation and makes it easy to add nodes should the network need to be expanded In the case of the C7750A1005: The TPT LONWORKS® is a daisy chain topology - the bus must go serially from one controller to another without branching. The C7750A2003 can be used to replace the C7750A1005 using a TPT/FTT router. Via C-Bus The C-Bus transmits data between EXCEL 5000 System Controllers, Devices and Building Supervisors at 9600 baud or 1 Mbaud (921 600 baud). The maximum allowed C-Bus network length is 1200 m, but with the addition of an XD509 Excel High Speed Repeater, the C-Bus can be extended (an additional 1200 m for each XD509).
