Depending upon the software already installed on your computer, you might see the following screen: Fig. Select installation folder Now select the folder on your computer into which you would like to have the CONFIG TOOL software installed. The following screen will then appear: Fig. [. . . ] The following screen will then appear: Fig. Basic screen The basic screen is divided into three columns. In the left-hand column, you will see: EN2B-0344GE51 R0608 4 SMART CONFIG TOOL ­ OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS at the top: the label/sticker of the connected SN/DCM stating technical specifications (model no. , etc. ) · at the bottom: an analog pressure gauge and analog output gauge (with their respective digital value fields) for use in the simulation mode, only. In the center column, you will see the current configuration (set-pt. , reset-pt. , etc. ) of the connected SN/DCM. NOTE: You must first click the "Connect" button at the bottom of the right-hand column before the aforementioned technical specifications can be displayed. · In the right-hand column, you will see the configuration file data. At the bottom right-hand corner, there are three buttons: · "Connect" (clicking this button is equivalent to going to the menu bar and clicking the "Device" item and then the "Connect" sub-item). When already connected, the "Disconnect" button will appear here instead (clicking this button is equivalent to going to the menu bar and clicking the "Device" item and then the "Disconnect" sub-item). "Use from device" (clicking this button is equivalent to going to the menu bar and clicking the "Configuration" item and then the "Use from Device" sub-item). "Send to device" (clicking this button is equivalent to going to the menu bar and clicking the "Configuration" item and then the "Send To Device" sub-item). · · Fig. Communication setting dialog (center inset), with empty settings The COM port selection wizard will ask first you to physically disconnect the USB cable from the SN/DCM. Then, click the "Next" button. Disconnect the SN/DCM by clicking the "Disconnect" button. Wait until the SN/DCM is disconnected properly before removing the M12 cable from it. Close the configuration file by going to the menu bar and clicking the "Configuration" item and then the "Close" sub-item. NOTE: Do not disconnect the cable during steps 2 through 8. If this nevertheless happens, you must reconnect the SN/DCM and repeat the configuration. CONFIGURING A SINGLE SN/DCM A single SN/DCM is configured online. At the conclusion of the procedure, you will have the option of saving your data in the form of a device file. The device file (a file with the extension *. cfa) contains the configuration data (and the serial number) of the connected SN/DCM. The device file is intended for documentation purposes, only: it cannot be used for configuring any SN/DCM, not even the one which it was created from. We recommend storing (and/or printing out) the device file for possible use in case of subsequent difficulties. Our Technical Assistance Team may ask you for data stored in this file. To reconfigure a single SN/DCM, proceed as follows: 1. [. . . ] Disconnect the SN/DCM by clicking the "Disconnect" button. Wait until the SN/DCM is disconnected properly before removing the M12 cable from it. Repeat steps 5 ­ 10 for any other device(s) you wish to configure. Close the configuration file by going to the menu bar and clicking the "Configuration" item and then the "Close" sub-item. [. . . ]
