HP JetDirect external print server Section 2 - Printing Basics Before you install the printer software: · Make sure that your computer and print server are configured properly in a network environment. Use the DeskJet Control Panel to specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program. Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features. Section 2 - Printing Basics Installing the HP DeskJet Control Panel for DOS Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on. 1 2 Insert the Starter CD into the CD-ROM drive. At the DOS prompt C:\>, type the CD-ROM drive letter and change the directory to \driver\win\disk3, e. g. Follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete installation.
