Be sure that all pins on connectors and components are straight. Be sure that all components are fully seated. Flash the controller firmware ("Smart Components for ROM Flash" on page 26). Contact an authorized service provider for assistance. The Power On/Standby button has not been pressed firmly or held long enough. Recognizing hard drive failure In an HP storage enclosure, a steadily glowing Fault LED indicates that the drive has failed. Other indications of failed hard drives: The amber LED on the front of a storage system is lit if drives fail. (However, this LED also illuminates when other problems occur, such as when a system fan fails, a redundant power supply fails, or the system overheats. ) ACU represents failed drives with a distinctive icon. HP SIM can detect failed drives remotely across a network. (For more information about HP SIM, refer to the documentation on the Management CD. ) ADU lists all failed drives.
