XP Remote Web Console user guide 83 Mainframe Systems: Figure 50 Capacity Box (Mainframe Systems) · The Device Type drop-down list allows you to select the type of volumes to be displayed, as follows: · Total Device displays information on all volume types. · Internal Device Only displays information on internal volumes only. · External Device Only displays information on external volumes only. · The Mainframe Volume button displays the volume capacity information for all available mainframe (zSeries and S/390) and multi-platform volumes in the array. The displayed information does not include the capacity of V-VOL. If there are no mainframe or multiplatform volumes, No Volume is displayed. · The Allocated LDEV Capacity field displays the following information about the available mainframe (zSeries and S/390) and multiplatform volumes: · The capacity of the assigned LDEVs · The percentage of assigned mainframe (zSeries and S/390) and multiplatform LDEVs compared to the total mainframe and multiplatform capacity is displayed in parentheses and in the blue area of the pie chart. · The Reserved Capacity field displays information about the available mainframe (zSeries and S/390) and multi-platform volumes that are reserved for XP Auto LUN Software. The following information is displayed: · The capacity of the reserved volumes · The percentage of reserved volumes compared to the total mainframe and multiplatform capacity is displayed in parentheses and in the pink area of the pie chart. Number of LDEVs Box The Number of LDEVs box is on the lower right of the XP Remote Web Console Main panel. NOTE: Each LDEV included in a LUSE is counted in the Number of LDEVs box. For example, if a LUSE includes four LDEVs, all four LDEVs are counted. 84 Performing XP Remote Web Console Operations Figure 51 Number of LDEVs Box · Allocated OPEN LDEVs: Displays the number of open-system volumes that have assigned paths. NOTE: For the purpose of counting paths, each LUSE volume is counted as a single volume. · Unallocated OPEN LDEVs: Displays the number of open-system volumes that do not have assigned paths. NOTE: This does not include On-Demand storage volumes or XP Auto LUN Software reserved volumes. · Reserved OPEN LDEVs: Displays the number of open-system volumes that are XP Auto LUN Software reserved volumes. · On-Demand: Displays the number of additional open-system volumes that are available to the user by the On-Demand storage function. NOTE: If you select External Device Only in the Device Type drop-down list, the On-Demand capacity field is not displayed. · Allocated Mainframe LDEVs: Displays the number of zSeries, S/390 and multiplatform volumes that have assigned paths. Confirm the memory size (512 MB or greater is recommended) of the XP Remote Web Console client, open Java Plug-in Control Panel from Control Panel, and then set a memory size to use in the Java Runtime Parameters box on Java Plug-in Control Panel. For example, set as follows: For 512 MB: -Xmx536870912 Click Refresh ( panel. ) on the XP Remote Web Console Even though you have click Apply to execute the operation, the new settings are not displayed on the XP Remote Web Console panel. An XP Remote Web Console panel is forcibly closed on the panel or by some other means, by clicking while time-consuming processing, such as LDEV formatting, is in progress. [. . . ]
