[. . . ] Always look down and behind before and while backing. They may fall off and be seriously injured or interfere with safe machine operation. Keep children out of the mowing area and under the watchful care of another responsible adult. Be alert and turn machine off if children enter the area. Before and when backing, look behind and down for small children. Mow up and down slopes (10° Max), not across. Remove obstacles such as rocks, tree limbs, etc. Uneven terrain could overturn the machine. Use a slow speed while on slope or hill. If tires lose traction, disengage the blades and proceed slowly straight down the slope. If machine stops while going uphill, disengage blades, shift into reverse and back down slowly. Do not turn on slopes unless necessary, and then, turn slowly and gradually downhill, if possible. In order to prevent accidental starting when setting up, transporting, adjusting or making repairs, always disconnect spark plug wire and place wire where it cannot contact spark plug. BEFORE ASSEMBLING GRASS CATCHER TO MOWER • Set parking brake. • Turn ignition key “OFF” and remove key. WARNING • Place motion control levers in “NEUTRAL” position. • Make sure the blades and all moving parts have completely stopped. • Disconnect spark plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact with plug. 7 ASSEMBLY 1 UTILITY BOX AND REAR GUARD REMOVAL NOTE: Before mounting new bagger, the utility box and rear guard must be removed. 1. Remove the hairpins and clevis pins that secure the utility box to the unit (all four corners). 2. Using a ½" wrench, remove the bolts that secure the rear bracket to the unit. 2 INSTALL REAR GUARD, PLATE AND HANGER 1. Using bolts removed from rear bracket, install rear guard included in kit. 2. Place the hanger over the tab on the plate. 3. Attach support plate to the front and rear brackets with four 3/8 x ¾ bolts and nuts provided with kit. Support Plate Front Bracket Hanger Remove Bolts Rear Bracket New Rear Bracket 4. Secure the hanger to the rear bracket with 5/16 x ¾ bolt from kit. Hanger Bolt 8 ASSEMBLY 3 INSTALL HOOD INLET 1. Place the cover assembly upside down on a flat surface. 2. Place the inlet in the cover and direct it out of the large hole on the front side of the cover.
