Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] You will find the following labels on your chain saw: Both of the operator′s hands must be used to operate the chain saw. Never operate a chain saw holding it with one hand only. EPA I Never let the guide bar tip come in contact with any object. WARNING!Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, and cause a lightning fast reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up and towards the operator. Other symbols/decals on the machine refer to special certification requirements for certain markets. EPA II Symbols in the operator’s manual: Switch off the engine by moving the stop switch to the STOP position before carrying out any checks or maintenance. [. . . ] Do not pull the starter cord all the way out and do not let go of the starter handle when the cord is fully extended. This can damage the machine. Ignition; choke: Set the choke control in the choke position. This should automatically set the stop switch to the start position. Start throttle: The correct choke/start throttle setting is obtained by moving the control to the choke position. Push in the choke control as soon as the engine fire and make repeated starting attempts. Immediately press and release the throttle when the engine starts. As the chain brake is still activated the engine must return to idling speed as soon as possible by disengaging the throttle latch in order to avoid unnecessery wear on the clutch assembly. If the machine is fitted with an air purge (A): Press the air purge repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the bulb. The bulb need not be completely filled. If the machine is fitted with a decompression valve (B): Press the valve to reduce the pressure in the cylinder and make starting easier. You should always use the decompression valve when starting the machine. Once the machine has started the valve will automatically return to its original setting. Follow the instructions above, but do not use a chain saw in a situation where you cannot call for help in case of an accident. 2 Do not use the machine in bad weather, such as dense fog, heavy rain, strong wind, intense cold, etc. Working in bad weather is tiring and often brings added risks, such as icy ground, unpredictable felling direction, etc. Take great care when removing small branches and avoid cutting bushes (i. e. cutting many small branches at the same time). Small branches can be grabbed by the chain and thrown back at you, causing serious injury. 10 Check the chain tension. General working instructions IMPORTANT!This section describes basic safety rules for using a chain saw. This information is never a substitute for professional skills and experience. If you get into a situation where you feel unsafe, stop and seek expert advice. Contact your chain saw dealer, service agent or an experienced chain saw user. Do not attempt any task that you are not sure you can handle! [. . . ] Move the chain saw at least 10 feet (3 m) from the fueling point before starting the engine. Do not allow other persons to be near the chain saw when starting or cutting with the chain saw. Keep bystanders and animals out of the work area. Do not start cutting until you have a clear work area, secure footing and a planned retreat path from the falling tree. [. . . ]
