Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] 23 Introduction The HYFAX "EXPERT" Digital Sound Control Console is a new generation of a fully digital mixing system that can be used and operated in a very similar way like a traditional analog console. The EXPERT system reflects the long experience and know-how of the HYFAX engineers, achieved in designing audio equipment for dedicated use in halls and theatres and their deep understanding of hall acoustics. It also contains the feedback from our customers and many SR professionals. The EXPERT system has eliminated complicated operations often found with other recently developed digital console designs, and enables it's user for a real-time, on-the-fly adjustment through an intuitive operation -essential for SR use. [. . . ] In stereo mode, you also have two AUX send options: stereo-stereo or stereo-mono send. Stereo-Stereo Send 1) In stereo mode, the left channel is preassigned to odd-numbered AUX buses while the right channel is preassigned to even-numbered AUX buses. So, stereo-stereo AUX send is immediately available when you press the send level knob. 2) Press a bus selection switch (1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8) and select an AUX bus. Adjust the send level to the selected AUX bus by turning the corresponding send level knob. If you want pre-fader send, press and hold the corresponding PF switch until it is lit up. Input stereo signals will be sent to the AUX buses as they are (in stereo). 90 Stereo-Mono Send 1) Press a send level knob and enable stereo-stereo AUX send. Then press and hold the bus selection switch for more than one second. This enables stereomono send to the corresponding pair of AUX buses (e. g. 1/2). In stereo-mono send, input stereo signals are first mono mixed and then distributed to the selected pair of AUX buses. To cancel stereo-mono send, press and hold the bus selection switch again for more than one second. 2) Press a bus selection switch (1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8) and select an AUX bus. Set a send level to the selected AUX bus by turning the corresponding send level knob. If you want pre-fader send, press and hold the corresponding PF switch until it's lit up. Input stereo signals will be mono mixed and then distributed to the AUX buses. 91 Sending to the PGM Buses PGM buses are 8 LCR stereo groups, arranged in parallel. The diagram below illustrates a LCR group. 1) When you enable PGM send in stereo mode, input stereo signals are sent to odd- and even-numbered (L and R) PGM buses, as well as to PGM-M (C) bus, which receives a mono mixed stereo signals. So, you already have a basic panning setup finished. 2) However, if you press one of the lit-up PGM bus selection switches and then adjust the PAN&LEVEL knob, you get a cross panning effect (X panning). If you select an odd-numbered bus, you can move the left channel signal to the center. Oppositely, you can move the right channel signal to the center if selecting an even-numbered bus. This way you can dynamically change the stereo image using the cross panning effect. Use the cross panning effect for a wide or narrow stereo image. 92 Sending to the REC Buses Similar to LCR-configured PGM buses, the REC buses are also stereo paired. 1) When you turn the REC send level knob in stereo mode, input stereo signals are sent to the left and right REC buses. 2) When setting the panning level (hold down the PAN knob and then turn it), you can create a cross panning effect (X panning) as with PGM bus send. In this case, you can turn the knob clockwise to change stereo to mono (center). Use the cross panning effect for a wide or narrow stereo image. 93 Copying Channel Settings using ISO Up to now, you have learned how to make settings for a single channel strip. You can repeat the same procedure for all necessary channels to complete a basic setup. In actual productions, however, you don't want to adjust each parameter for every input channel one by one, totally from scratch. For such repetitive tasks, you can fully use the CPY, MEM and ISO switches provided in every channel strip. You can find the ISO switches in nearly all modules on the control surface. See also "Isolated Copy and Paste" (page 26) on how to use the ISO switches. You can also use the ISO switch in the channel fader block as a temporary ISO master. If you press and hold it for more than one second, you can turn on or off all other ISO switches in the same channel strip. [. . . ] These settings are shared with the EXT CONTROL-RL switches. For a device you want to trigger its start and stop, set "O" for its Alternate column. You can select Pulse or Alternate every time you press the corresponding numeric key. 170 Deleting a Scene While working on a scene list, you can organize it by deleting unnecessary scenes. [. . . ]
