Bluetooth devices communicate without wires, using built-in radio transceivers that operate on a globally available radio frequency to ensure worldwide compatibility. Your Bluetooth Wireless Portable Speaker can communicate with other Bluetooth devices within a range of approximately 10 meters (33 feet). 5 Portable Speaker Features 1 Multifunction Button (MFB) and Speaker Indicator LED: Controls speaker function and provides visual indication about speaker status. 2 Headset Jack: Plug in an extra headset during phone conversations. 3 Point the microphone toward your mouth. 4 Remove the speaker from your visor when charging. Note: Do not leave the HF820 in a hot vehicle for any extended period of time. Wearing the Portable Speaker In the Holster The charger receptacle and all buttons are exposed for ease of operation when in a holster. 1 Insert the portable speaker into the holster. 2 Use the belt clip to wear the unit on your belt or other convenient location. On a lanyard 1 Place a lanyard around the lanyard loop on the top of the unit. 3 Point the microphone toward your mouth. 10 Turning the Portable Speaker On and Off Press the volume button to turn the portable speaker on. Press and hold the volume button for 2-3 seconds to turn the portable speaker off. 11 Using the Portable Speaker with a Headset You can plug an extra headset into your wireless portable speaker. Pairing Your Portable Speaker and Phone Note: You must pair your portable speaker and phone before you can make a call. "Pairing" creates a link between devices with Bluetooth® wireless technology, and allows the phone to remember the portable speaker's unique ID. When your speaker and phone are paired, the speaker automatically connects to the phone*(some phones do not support this feature). 12 With the portable speaker and phone in close proximity: 1 Press the volume button once to put the speaker into pairing mode. 2 Initiate the pairing sequence using handsfree mode if available. The speaker may also be paired in headset mode if handsfree mode is not available. [. . . ] The device ID is now stored in the phone's memory. Pairing is successful when the MFB indicator flashes 10 times rapidly 13 Pairing to Additional Devices Your speaker can store pairing information for up to eight different devices with Bluetooth wireless technology. Devices are stored in a "Paired Device List" in memory in the order entered. When an attempt to pair to more than eight devices is made, the oldest paired device is removed from the list. [. . . ]
