ALE, Establishing an automatic connection
To use EX-1514, a PC or laptop with Windows XP pro is needed. Once installed and set up, EX-1514 works in the Windows background. When the operator does this, the message service can be interrupted in order to make a voice radio station transmission or telegraphy (CW) possible.
Other possibilities
The transfer of files is supported in the same way as for traditional Outlook exchanges. However, the user should be careful not to attach very large files to the message, which would need to use the radio for an extended time. If the connection is broken, the transmission resumes from what was correctly received.
