Preparing for Photography 3 This procedure will prepare your Olympus digital camera for iPIXTM photography. The instructions in this chapter are divided into sections specific to each camera model. Before you work with your camera, familiarize yourself with your new equipment. The equipment you received from Internet Pictures Corporation will vary depending upon the kit you ordered. Most kits will include a software package, rotator, fisheye lens, and fisheye lens adapter for your camera model. Other optional items, like additional memory cards, memory card readers, tripods, etc. , may be included in your kit. Supported digital camera . . . . . Every digital camera supported by Interactive Pictures uses a customdesigned fisheye lens, rotator, and lens adapter, like the one shown above. Turning the Camera Off Before changing batteries and inserting or removing the memory card, make sure that your camera is turned off. To turn your Olympus digital camera off, slide the lens barrier closed. iPIXTM Photography with Olympus Digital Cameras 25 3 - PREPARING FOR PHOTOGRAPHY Photography Preparations Photography Preparations The following instructions will work with any supported Olympus digital camera models. Instructions for each camera are labeled with the camera model. Step 1: Insert the Batteries 1. Remove the four AA alkaline batteries from the kit. If your kit comes with the rechargeable batteries, charge the four NiMH batteries before using them in the camera. Only use the charger with the NiMH batteries. 2. Open the batter compartment door. · Olympus 340-360/830-860. Move the lever on the underside of the camera and open the battery compartment. Simultaneously press down and slide out the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the camera. Insert the four AA batteries following the diagram on the underside of the camera. Close the battery cover, and secure it in place. Removing the batteries will return the camera to its default settings. After you change the batteries, you will need to reset the date. One 8MB memory card will hold 14-16 high resolution pictures--enough to create seven to eight iPIX images. Open the memory card door, located above the batteries on the same end of the camera, as shown below. Insert the memory card in the slot according to the icon on the memory card compartment door. 5. Open the Card Door. Gently insert the memory card, and close the door. Make sure that your tripod is firmly set up and that you pay close attention to not bumping or moving it between pictures. Step 1: Assemble the Tripod and Rotator 1. [. . . ] Replace the battery covers clockwise with the unlocked mark position to the locked position to close. Insert the memory card into the FloppyDisk Adapter so that the contact on the memory card is oriented to the opposite side of the adapter's metallic surface. 3. 6. Insert the FloppyDisk adapter into the computer's floppydisk drive. Open the software by clicking Start, then Programs, FlashPath, and then FlashPath Status. [. . . ]
