[. . . ] Supervision is necessary when this machine is used by or near children. Use this machine only for its intended use as described in this manual. Use only attachments recommended by the manufacturer as described in this manual. Never operate this machine if it has a damaged cord or plug, is not working properly, has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. [. . . ] Both thread cones and spools of thread can be used. Before connecting the power cord/foot control, make sure the voltage and frequency shown on the machine are identical to your electrical power. Insert the machine/foot control plug into the machine socket and the power supply plug into the wall outlet. While the machine is in operation, always keep your eye on the sewing area and do not touch any moving parts ­ needle(s), handwheel, upper knife, loopers, etc. Always turn off the power switch and unplug the machine from the power supply: When leaving the machine unattended when attaching or removing parts when cleaning the machine. Do not place anything on the foot control. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. if the plug does not fit fully in the outlet , reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Set the items D through J (see below) before threading. It is very important to refer to the threading chart for proper threading of the stitch. incorrect threading or thread order may lead to skipped stitches and/or thread breakage. To remove the thread chain, cut threads at looper and needle eyes and hand pull threads to the rear. Do not sew out threads to remove the thread chain. Program display Program selection dial Program number Differential feed ratio Stitch length in mm Needle position Cutting width dial position Position of upper knife 2-thread converter - up/down Position of needle plate setting knob Stitch type Select the program number corresponding to the stitch type you wish to sew. Refer to the stitch diagrams indicated on the machine and inside the front cover. Program selection dial Turn the program selection dial until the desired stitch program number is shown in the program display. What the Symbols Represent C: Program number D: Differential feed E: Stitch length F: Needle position G: Cutting width H: Upper knife position I: 2-thread converter J: Needle plate setting knob NOTE: means the device shall be set at UP position. Means the device shall be set at DOWN position. Program number The thread tension dials will be automatically set to "N" when selecting the program. [. . . ] Upper knife To disengage the upper knife (down) Hand turn the handwheel to bring the needle bar to its highest position. Push the upper knife release knob to the right and turn it towards you. NOTE: Do not allow the fabric edge to extend beyond the right side of the needle plate when sewing with the upper knife disengaged. To engage upper knife (up) Push the upper knife release knob to the right and turn it away from you. [. . . ]
