For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions. If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the product, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A groundingtype plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. In that case, you must use a "Y"connector (not included) in order to maximize the subwoofer's performance. 5 O P E R AT I O N The HTPS-300 contains a signal-sensing auto turn-on/ turn-off circuit. This feature will automatically turn the subwoofer on when you turn Toggle Position Off On Auto your system on with the power switch in the "Auto" position and begin playing any program material. The subwoofer will return to standby mode when no signal is received for approximately 15 minutes. The power switch's "Off" position is for vacation use only. The HTPS-300 will turn off after approximately fifteen minutes. The subwoofer will turn on when your receiver/processor begins playing again. TROUBLESHOOTING If there is no output from the subwoofer: · Make sure the system is on and a source is playing. · Make sure the HTPS-300 is plugged into an active outlet and the power switch is in either the "Auto" or "On" position. · If you are using a THXcertified processor/receiver, make sure the THX/Normal switch is set to "THX. " · If you are not using a THXcertified processor/receiver, make sure the THX/Normal switch is set to "Normal. " · Adjust the "Output Level" (Gain) control. [. . . ]
