Manual abstract: user guide JONSERED FT 5

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add petrol while the engine is running or when the engine is hot; - if petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but move the machine away from the area of spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition until petrol vapors have dissipated; - replace all fuel tank and container caps securely. Before using, always visually inspect to see that the tools are not worn or damaged. Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect. Do not change the engine governor settings or overspeed the engine. [. . . ] If a higher handle height is desired, loosen the four nuts securing handle panel to engine brackets. Your outer tines can be assembled in several different ways to suit your tilling or cultivating needs. With engine level, remove engine oil filler plug. Engine oil should be to point of almost overflowing. Engine oil capacity is about 1 1/4 pints (20 ounces). Use clean 30 or 10W-30 grade oil and store in approved, clean covered containers. Fill the fuel tank with pure petrol only, not a petroloil mixture. Do not fill petrol while the engine is running. Check to see that both clutch levers are disengaged. Starting up when the engine is cold Once the engine starts, slide the choke to the "run" position. Starting when the engine is warm Start the engine with a quick pull of the recoil starter. All variations of speed and depth of cultivation are dependent on the position of the supporting wheels and arrester bar. The arrester bar must always be lower than the level of the wheels during cultivation. The function of the arrester bar is to slow down the movement of the cultivator so that the blades dig into the soil. Set the arrester bar lower if you want the cultivator to till deeper. Set the arrester bar higher if you want the cultivator to till less deeply. The braking effect of the arrester bar can also be adjusted by reversing the pointed end of the bar to point either forwards or backwards. Lifting the handlebars slightly will increase the cultivator's speed of propulsion, which means that the blades will not dig as deeply into the soil. Pressing the handlebars down has the effect of reducing the speed of the machine, and making the blades work deeper. When cultivating hard or stony ground, it is advisable to proceed slowly. When cultivating hard ground or peat, it is advisable to cultivate 2-3 times in succession, working gradually deeper over the same area of ground. Always cultivate at right angles to the previously worked direction (cross cultivation). [. . . ] Remove the spark plug and pour 2-3 tablespoons of engine oil into the spark plug hole. Pull the starter 2-3 times so as to distribute the oil evenly. Clean the cooling system as well as the outside of the rest of the engine. Store the cultivator in a clean, dry place. [. . . ]
