A. Connection to a TV or VCR equipped with a SCART connector compatible only with regular video signal Use the provided Audio/Video (A/V) cable. Cable Adapter (provided) A/V cable (provided) Yellow to Video Output White to Audio Output L Red to Audio Output R White to AUDIO L Red to AUDIO R Yellow to VIDEO To TV or VCR TV VCR Connector cover* Set to CVBS B. Connection to a TV or VCR equipped with a SCART connector compatible with Y/C signal Use the provided Audio/Video (A/V) cable and S-Video cable. A/V cable (provided) Yellow: not connect White to Audio Output L Red to Audio Output R Yellow: not connect White to AUDIO L Red to AUDIO R Cable Adapter (provided) To TV or VCR TV VCR Connector cover* To S-VIDEO OUT S-Video cable (provided) Set to Y/C To S -IN C. EN43 1 CONFIRM POWER-OFF STATUS 2 CONNECT CAMCORDER TO TV OR VCR Make sure the camcorder's power is off. NOTES: Pull out the connector cover and open it. Connect as shown in the illustration ( pg. go to step 4. 3 CONNECT VCR OUTPUT TO TV INPUT Refer to your VCR's instruction manual. 4 SUPPLY POWER 5 SELECT MODE Turn on the camcorder, the VCR and the TV. Set the VCR to its AUX input mode, and set the TV to its VIDEO mode. PLAYBACK To choose whether or not the following displays appear on the connected TV . set to "ON" or "OFF" in the Playback Menu ( pg. · Playback Sound Mode Display . . . . set the Power Switch to "PRO. To monitor the picture and sound from the camcorder without inserting a tape, set the camcorder's Power Switch to "CAMERA", then set your TV to the appropriate input mode. Make sure you adjust the TV sound volume to its minimum level to avoid a sudden burst of sound when the camcorder is turned on. If you have a TV or speakers that are not specially shielded, do not place the speakers adjacent to the TV as interference will occur in the camcorder playback picture. To keep the camcorder's display from appearing on the TV screen during playback, press DISPLAY for longer than 1 second. Set the video out select switch of the cable adapter as required: Y/C: When connecting to a TV or VCR which accepts Y/C signals and uses an S-Video cable. CVBS: When connecting to a TV or VCR which does not accept Y/C signals and uses an audio/ video cable. 44 EN TAPE DUBBING Tape Dubbing PLAY/PAUSE (4/6) Button Power Switch 1 CONNECT EQUIPMENT Connector cover* Red to Audio Output R White to Audio Output L Following the illustration at left, connect the camcorder and the VCR.
