Before operating this unit, please read the instructions carefully to ensure the best possible performance. For Customer Use : Enter below the Serial No. Retain this information for future reference. [. . . ] Press the MENU button to display the TOP MENU screen. Rotate the SELECT dial to align the cursor (f) with the MODE item, and then press the SELECT dial. The MODE item setting area is seen blinking, and settings can now be changed. Indication of set position of the MODE switch When the MODE item is set to MANUAL, the position of the MODE switch ("CAM-A" or "CAM-B") is indicated after the CAMERA SET and OPERATION SET items. The settings are valid for the position indicated for the MODE switch. When the MODE item is set to AUTO, the OPERATION SET items are not displayed. The position of the MODE switch ("CAM-A" or "CAM-B") is indicated after the CAMERA SET item. 4. Rotate the SELECT dial to set to AUTO or MANUAL. AUTO : Auto shooting mode MANUAL : Manual shooting mode 5. Press the SELECT dial. The setting area stops blinking and the setting is confirmed and entered. 6. Rotate the SELECT dial to align the cursor (f) with the EXIT item, and then press the SELECT dial. The normal screen returns. 48 SETTINGS BEFORE SHOOTING Audio Input Signal Selection The GY-DV300 is provided with three sources for audio input (i. e. , built-in microphone and input connectors MIC 1 and MIC 2 for external microphones). Two channels of sound can be recorded on the tape in digital PCM format. Select for each channel (CH1 and CH2) which sound should be recorded on the channel. The sound of each of the input sources is monaural. Built-in microphone MIC 1 input connector Select whether the built-in microphone or a microphone connected to the MIC 1 input connector should be used. The built-in microphone and a microphone connected to the MIC 1 input connector cannot be used at the same time. When using the GY-DV300 with the built-in microphone or a microphone connected to the MIC 1 input connector, select which one to use by setting the MIC1 INPUT SEL item on the SYSTEM [1/2] menu screen.
