[. . . ] · Video Calibration (A page 63) does not work while Satellite Auto Recording is in progress. · Auto Clock (A page 18) does not work while in the Satellite Auto Recording standby mode. · The VCR may not record a short portion at the beginning of the program or may record slightly longer than the actual length of the program when Satellite Auto Recording method is used. · If you engage the Satellite Auto Recording standby mode while the DBS receiver is turned on, the VCR will not start Satellite Auto Recording, [V] on the front display panel blinks rapidly and [j] lights up. When you turn off the DBS receiver, [V] and [j] light up and the VCR enters the Satellite Auto Recording standby mode. · If you have connected another component other than a DBS receiver (or cable box) to the [AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT L-1] or [S VIDEO INPUT L-1] connectors, be sure not to engage the Satellite Auto Recording standby mode; otherwise, the VCR will start recording when the connected component is turned on. · Satellite Auto Recording and timer-recording cannot be performed at the same time. · If the [V] blinks rapidly on the front display panel in the Satellite Auto Recording standby mode (even though your DBS receiver is turned off), Satellite Auto Recording will not work properly. If this is the case, perform `Express Timer Programming' (A page 44) to timer-record a satellite program. (Some DBS receivers output signals even if the power is off. Satellite Auto Recording is not possible with those DBS receivers. ) 48 EN i. LINK Timer Programming · Turn on the VCR and the TV (and/or Digital Set Top Box). TIMER RECORDING (cont. ) This VCR can perform D-VHS recording of a program which is timer-programmed on your Integrated HDTV (or Digital Set Top Box). A Load a D-VHS cassette Make sure the record safety tab is intact. If not, cover the hole with adhesive tape before inserting the cassette. · Set the [VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS] selector on the Remote to [VCR]. · The [D-VHS] LED on the front panel and [DVHS] indicator on the front display panel light up and the D-VHS recording mode is enabled. LINK input) On the front panel: Press [CHANNEL +] or [­] to select "I-1" etc. On the Remote: Press [TV/VCR CH +] or [­] to select "I-1" etc. · Set "LINC" to "AUTO". (A page 70) D VCR CABLE TV /DBS C Set timer program on the Integrated HDTV source · Confirm that a link has been established between this VCR and the Integrated HDTV. · Set the recording speed to "AUTO" if this option is available. B · For timer programming method, refer to the manual of the Integrated HDTV. D Engage recording standby mode Press [POWER] to turn off the VCR. · The Integrated HDTV will activate the VCR to automatically start recording through i. LINK at the programmed time. · The VCR may not record a short portion at the beginning of the program, to ensure full recording of the program, turn on the VCR slightly before the programmed time. ATTENTION: When this VCR is connected via i. LINK to a TV or a Digital Set Top Box, there may be cases when the images are not recorded by the VCR. In such cases, choose the record command from the i. LINK menu of the TV or the Set Top Box. EN 49 Video Remote Control Timer Programming · Turn on the VCR and the TV (and/or Digital Set Top Box). This VCR can perform analog recording of a program which is timer-programmed on your Integrated HDTV (or Digital Set Top Box). A B Load a cassette Make sure the record safety tab is intact. VCR CABLE TV /DBS E B-a C B-b [AUX] Engage recording standby mode Press [POWER] to turn off the VCR. · The Integrated HDTV will activate the VCR to automatically start recording through the Video Remote Controller at the programmed time. 50 EN ATTENTION: · If there is a conflict in the timer schedule and one program overlaps with another, only the parts shown below in gray will be recorded.
