English 11 Connecting the System Connections Caution for connection Ensure that all the cords are securely connected. Connecting Other Components A DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) Connect the optical digital input terminals on components such as MD recorders to the [DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL)] terminal on the rear panel of the DP-K1000. B ANALOG OUT To connect an amplifier other than R-K1000 (sold separately) or an amplifier that does not have a digital input terminal to the DP-K1000, use the audio cable supplied with the DP-K1000 to connect the audio input terminal on the amplifier to the [ANALOG OUT] terminal on the rear panel of the DP-K1000. Microcomputer malfunctions If the system is connected correctly and still does not operate normally or shows display errors, reset the microcomputer. System Control Connection If you use system control connection to connect an R-K1000 (sold separately) to the DP-K1000, the DP-K1000 operates as follows: When you play CD on the DP-K1000, input on the R-K1000 automatically switches to CD and you can use the R-K1000 remote control to control CD operations on the DP-K1000. Similarly, if you set the R-K1000 input to CD, the DP-K1000 starts playing the CD. Operation is linked so that turning the R-K1000 on and off turns the DP-K1000 on and off also. When the DIMMER, Display Saver and Auto Power Save functions are set on the R-K1000, they run on the DP-K1000 also. 14 DP-K1000 Component Names and Functions Display Displays numbers and text. Displays shown in this manual may differ from the actual displays. TOTAL: Lights during playback when the elapsed time for the entire disc is displayed. REMAIN: Lights when the remaining playback time for the current track is displayed. TOTAL/REMAIN: Lights when the remaining time for the entire disc is displayed during playback or when the playback time for the entire disc is displayed while playback is stopped.
