[. . . ] 1996 CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS This section will help you to become familiar with each of the controls and functions found on your 8008X3 Three Channel Amplifier. Take a few moments to read the information presented in this section in order to facilitate your understanding of the control options available. FIGURE 1 FRONT PANEL CONTROLS CONNECTIONS 4. SPEAKER OUTPUTS These are the speaker outputs for the three channels. A/C POWER CONNECTOR This 3 prong connector is for the A/C power input. 1. POWER ON/OFF This rocker switch turns the A/C power ON (press top) or OFF (press bottom. ) POWER INDICATOR This light will be on whenever the 8008X3 is in the on position. INPUTS These three inputs can be use for any three channels in a home theatre system. 2. 3. SYSTEM SETUP This section provides you with the setup procedures to easily connect the 8008X3 Amplifier to your system. . Never allow the speaker cable termination's to touch at either the back of the amplifier or the speaker terminals. Always turn off the BOOBX3 whenconnectingor movingyour loudspeakers. Your 8008X3 is designed to be free standing, placed on an audio rack or stacked with other components. Always be sure to provide enough space (at least 1Y2 inches) at the top, sides and the rear of the 8008X3 to allow sufficient air flow through the ventilation slots. Failure to do this will cause severe damage to the unit. Never place your 8008X3 directly on carpet. Always place on a hard flat surface to allow for proper ventilation. . SETUP WITH A HOME THEATRE 1. PREPARATION SYSTEM Before hooking up your 8008X3 you must decide if you will use it for the front channels; Left, Center, Right or for the effects channels; Center, Left Surround, Right Surround. Please note that the INPUTS (1, 2, 3) are assigned to the corresponding SPEAKER OUTPUTS (1, 2, 3) and can be used for any three channels of a home theatre system. INPUT CONNECTION Using appropriate RCA cables, connect your surround sound source to the corresponding inputs on the back of your 8008X3. Consult your authorized Aragon dealer for his or her recommendations on cables and speaker wire. OUTPUT CONNECTION Before connecting your 8008X3 to the loudspeakers make sure that the power is off. For simple connection your amplifier is equipped with five-way binding posts. Using appropriate speaker cable (14 GA minimum in short runs and 12 GA in long runs over 25 ft. ) connect each of the three outputs of the 8008X3 to the corresponding speaker inputs.
