Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] PAGE 1 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of the Aragon Soundstage. The Soundstage was designed to eliminate the need for a separate two-channel music system, and home theater system. We have integrated an audiophile quality two channel analog preamplifier, based on the design of the Aragon Aurum, and a top-level digital surround sound processor into an easy to use preamp/processor. The Soundstage maintains a simple design allowing audio and video to be selected at the push of a button, while it also has numerous advanced features that allow the preamp/processor to be tailored to best suit the system around it. [. . . ] This DB-25 connector can be used to connect the analog outputs from a DVD player with a built in decoder. The Six Channel Analog input is passed directly to the analog preamplifier section. Individual level adjustment, as well as overall level adjustment is available for this input. PAGE 14 Video Expansion Port A slot has been provided for future video switching. This input will allow the switching of three Component Video, RGB Video, or HDTV video input signals (or all three types depending on your television) SUGGESTED CONNECTION DIAGRAM PAGE 15 GENERAL OPERATION Input Selection The input can be selected from the remote control, or the front panel. Analog Audio, Digital audio, and video are all selected simultaneously. See advanced features. ) The inputs are labeled for convenience only. Any line level analog output, or SPDIF digital output can be connected to any input. Dolby Digital from a laserdisc player requires the use of an external RF demodulator. Auto-format detection When an input is selected, the processor will search for a digital signal, and if present, will determine the format and switch to the proper mode. If no digital signal is detected, the processor will default to the analog input. The Soundstage will automatically switch to the digital input when one becomes present at the digital input for the selected source. Discrete surround formats such as DTS, and Dolby Digital will automatically selected when these bitstreams are detected. If a PCM digital bitstream, or an analog signal is detected, the last mode that was selected on that particular input will be loaded. Volume Adjustment by source Individual overall volume settings are saved for each input. When an input is selected, the volume level is set to the previously set level for that particular input. Variable Equalizer Bass and Treble Equalizer adjustments are available with 6dB of attenuation to 6 dB of gain in 1 dB steps. Pressing the TREBLE or BASS button allows adjustment of these settings. The LVL up (FF) and LVL DN (REW) buttons adjust the selected EQ. The Bass EQ is centered around 200 Hz, and the Treble EQ is centered around 5700 Hz. The Variable Equalizer can be turned on and off by pressing the A button. Once the Variable Equalizer has been activated while in a particular mode, each time that mode is loaded, the Variable Equalizer will be on. Once the Variable Equalizer is turned off with the A button, the Variable Equalizer will be off when that particular mode is loaded. [. . . ] Separate level settings are allowed for the Stereo Direct mode to accommodate for any gain differences that you may encounter. Press the SETUP button to access the channel balance menu. The LVL UP and LVL DN keys are used to make adjustments to the Front Left, Front Right, and Subwoofer channels. Lowering the volume down below the -10 dB point turns off the subwoofer. [. . . ]
