Ensure that the power cable can never become wet or moist when in use or that it could be damaged in any way. Notice regarding power disconnection: To completely disconnect the appliance from mains power, the plug MUST be removed from the power socket. [. . . ] Ensure that the lamp maintains an all round minimum distance of 35 cm to all surrounding objects. With areas on which the light falls directly, a distance of 50 cm must be maintained. Do not place the lamp at locations where, should it inadvertently tip over, it would land on easily inflammable materials, e. Soft furnishings, beds, waste paper baskets etc. Place the lamp where it cannot be knocked over by falling objects. Before changing the light bulb, ALWAYS wait for the bulb and the bulb holder to cool down. Otherwise you run the risk of being burnt on the hot elements. This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. First put the components together completely before operating the lamp. > Take all lamp components and the light bulb y from the packaging. > Now, carefully and slowly pull the power cable r from the lamp pedestal e whilst, at the same time you move the lower end of the lamp rod w towards the thread of the lamp pedestal e. > When the lamp rod w has reached the pedestal e, screw the inner thread of the lamp rod w onto the thread of the lamp pedestal e. > When screwing the lamp rod elements together, take steps to ensure the power cable r is not damaged in any way!> Unscrew the coupling ring u from the bulb holder and deposit the lampshade q by its ring retainer on the bulb holder. > Rescrew the coupling ring u back onto the bulb holder and then firmly tighten down the lampshade q. > Now remove the light bulb y from its packaging and screw it into the bulb holder. > Place the lamp at a suitable location , as detailed in the Safety Instructions. > Unwrap the power cable r and insert the plug into a properly installed household power socket. > Press the On/Off switch t to switch the lamp on.
