J hen sanding wood and in particular when W working on materials that give rise to dusts that are hazardous to health, the sander must be connected to a suitable external dust extraction device. J Wear protective glasses, hearing protection, dust protection masks and protective gloves. J nsure that there is adequate ventilation when E working on plastic, paint, varnish etc. J void sanding paints containing lead or other A substances hazardous to health. J Do not sand any material containing asbestos. J irmly support the workpiece (in a clamp or vice) F unless its own weight is enough to keep it in place. J Avoid contact with the moving sanding belt. J perate the tool only with an attached sanding O sheet. J o not abrade moistened materials or damp D surfaces. Proper procedure and handling: J ever use the tool for a purpose for which it was N not intended nor with non-original parts / accessories. J lways switch on the device before placing it A against the workpiece. After abrading, lift the device from the workpiece before switching it off. J hen working always hold the device securely W with both hands. J llow the device to come to a complete standstill A and switch it off before you put it down. J hen taking a break from your work, before W carrying out any tasks on the device itself (e. g. [. . . ] Suck out the debris carefully with a vacuum cleaner using a low suction pressure. j lean the tool and remove any adhering dust C with a narrow paint brush. j ever any kind of sharp object or petrol, solvents N or cleaning agents that might attack plastic. Do not allow any liquids to enter the inside of the tool. [. . . ]
