Contents of the box: · Printer · Power cord · Toner cartridge · Documentation kit 2 With the help of another person, grasp the four bottom corners from the right and left sides, not from the front and back. Set the printer down on a sturdy, flat surface. 3 Remove all packing tape and lower the multipurpose tray. ! 1 Open the side and front doors of the printer. 2 Unpack the toner cartridge and remove the protective paper sheet from the drum shutter. Allow enough space around the printer to allow adequate ventilation and easy servicing. Use a properly grounded AC outlet with a line voltage of 100 V, 120 V, or 220-240 V, ±10%. Maximum electrical current required during operation is 10 amps for a 100 V system, 8. 3 amps for a 120 V system, and 4. 5 amps for a 220-240 V system. Recommended frequency is 50­60 Hz ±2 Hz for a 100 V system, 60 Hz ±2 Hz for a 120 V system, and 50 Hz ±2 Hz for a 220-240 V system. " & # ' ( ) 1 Unpack the face-up tray and its parts: · Face-up tray · Face-up tray holder · Thumbscrews · Cutter/supporter 2 Holding the supplied cutter/ supporter sideways, insert it into the slot on the lower end of the filler panel. 3 Move the cutter/ supporter up and down to break the plastic connection. Repeat this step to break the other two connections. 4 Lift up the filler panel as shown to remove it from the printer. ® 5 Insert the cutter/ supporter into the slots at the front end of the duplexer. It is used to support the face-up tray. 6 Insert the two thumbscrews into the face-up tray holder. 7 Attach the faceup tray holder to the printer and tighten the two thumbscrews. 8 Attach the faceup tray onto the holder. *&!# " *!" 1 Make sure the printer is unplugged from the power outlet and the communication cables. Unpack the HCIF and its parts, and remove any packing material or tape. 2 Lock the front roller on the HCIF. Make sure the connecting cable is fed through the cable notch on the rear of the HCIF. 3 With another person, lift the printer and lower it onto the HCIF, while noting the alignment of the covers of the printer and HCIF. 4 Pull the lower tray of the printer all the way out until it stops, then lift it up slightly to remove it. [. . . ] Make sure the HCOS and the printer align correctly. 10 Plug the power cable of the HCOS into the power outlet on the printer. 11 Extend the locking bar and insert the end into the opening on the bottom of the HCOS. 12 Gently push the HCOS towards the printer until they lock in place. Make sure the horizontal transport is positioned correctly on the top of the printer and its far end goes securely into the vertical transport. Plug the interface cable of the HCOS into the output connector on the printer. 13 Insert and tighten the locking screw to secure the HCOS to the printer. 14 [. . . ]
