The Software License Agreement appears. 4 After reading and accepting the License Agreement click [Yes]. The communication type screen appears. 5 Select the "Parallel" and click [Next]. 6 Follow the instructions that appear on your screen until you can click [Finish]. The KONICA MINOLTA 130f printer and scanner drivers have been installed. 2-16 130f PCL driver Installation Activating the optional second paper cassette 2 If your machine has an optional second cassette installed, you must enter the driver and activate it. To activate the optional device: 1 Click [Start] % [Settings] % [Printer]. 2 Right click the "KONICA MINOLTA 130f PCL6 (or PCL5e)" icon, then click [Properties] (Windows 98/Me), or [Printing Preference] (Windows 2000/XP). 3 Click [Device Option] tab. 5 Click [OK], then close the printer. 130f PCL driver 2-17 2 2. 3 Network install: TCP/IP (option) Installation Note The optional network interface card is required. 2. 3. 1 Making connection Note Use an Ethernet® cable with two twisted wire pairs and an RJ45 plug. 1 Turn off the machine. 2 Connect your Ethernet cable to the network port of your machine, and the other end of the cable to the network port. 3 Turn on the machine. 2. 3. 2 The IP Address An IP address is required to install the network printer drivers. You need to obtain the IP address from your network administrator and enter it by following procedures. 1 Press [Menu], [6], [1], [1], [Enter]. 2 Use the numeric keys to enter the IP IP Address 192. 168. Press [Cancel] if you want to delete a digit. 3 Press [Enter]. 4 If necessary, change the subnet mask. Subnet mask 255. 255. 255. 0 5 Press [Enter], then press [Reset] to return to standby. 6 To effect the IP address setting, turn the machine off and then back on. 2-18 130f PCL driver Installation 2 2. 3. 3 Installing the drivers Note For Windows® 2000, Windows® XP and Windows NT® 4. 0, you must be logged in as the Administrator. Note If you have previously installed the KONICA MINOLTA 130f driver, you can update by simply clicking a [Update] button on the maintenance screen. 1 Insert the supplied CD into your CD-ROM drive. The driver install window will appear automatically. If not appears, run the "setup. exe" located on the root directory of the supplied CD-ROM. 2 Choose your language, then click [Next]. The Software License Agreement appears. 3 After reading and accepting the License Agreement click [Yes]. The connection type screen appears. 4 Select the "Network" and click [Next]. The install components screen appears. 5 Select the component you want to install, then click [Next]. The IP address screen appears. 6 Enter the IP address. 7 Follow the instructions appears on the screen to complete the installation. Configuring the printer port Just after the printer driver has been installed to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4. 0, its print port is still set for "FILE". You should change the printer port (see "Configuring the printer port" on page 2-21). This is not necessary for Windows 9x/Me. 130f PCL driver 2-19 2 Activating the optional second paper cassette Installation If your machine has an optional second cassette installed, you must enter the driver and activate it. 1 Click [Start] % [Settings] % [Printer]. 2 Right click the "KONICA MINOLTA 130f printer" icon, then click [Properties] (Windows 98/Me), or [Printing Preference] (Windows 2000/XP). 3 Click [Device Option] tab. 5 Click [OK], then close the printer. 2-20 130f PCL driver Installation 2 2. 3. 4 Configuring the printer port For Windows 2000/XP user 1 Open the printer screen. H H H In case of Windows XP Professional, click [Start] % [Printers and Faxes]. In case of Windows XP Home Edition, click [Start] % [Control Panel, Printers and other Hardware] % [Printers and Faxes]. In case of Windows 2000, click [Start] % [Settings] % [Printer]. 2 Right click on the "KONICA MINOLTA 130f printer" icon and select [Properties] from pop-up menu. 3 Click [Ports] tab and then click [Add Port]. The Printer port screen is displayed. 4 Select [Standard TCP/IP Port] and click [New Port]. [. . . ] When you set zoom in or out, always select "Automatic" or "Download as Outline" as True Type Mode. Download as Graphics (Windows98/Me only) All the font data and graphic data in the document will be transferred to the printer as Raster image. Select this mode if graphics are not printed properly as the computer screen. Note that the printing speed may decrease in this mode than the former three. [. . . ]
