[. . . ] Some originals may not be suitable for reliable operation in the Automatic Document Feeder. x Originals Suitable for the Automatic Document Feeder Type of Original : sheets (Plain paper) Normal mode · 1-Side Original (weighing 13-1/4 lbs. to 29-1/4 lbs. ) · Lightweight Original (10-3/4 lbs. to 29-1/4 lbs. ) Mixed Original Detection Mode (16 lbs. to 24 lbs. ) Original size : 11" × 17"L, LegalL, LetterL, LetterC, 8-1/4" × 13"L, InvoiceL (Except for Mixed Original Detection Mode) *Lightweight Original For lightweight original, it is recommended to place it directly onto the Origianl Glass or to make copies using the SADF Mode (Single Automatic Document Feeding Mode). 3-8 x Originals Not suitable for the Automatic Document Feeder · Typing paper, paraffin paper, and other thin paper · Thick paper · Originals greater than 11" × 17"L or smaller than InvoiceL · OHP transparencies, translucent paper · Wrinkled, dog-eared, curled, or torn originals · Clipped or stapled originals · Carbon-backed originals Typing paper, paraffin paper, and ther thin paper Making Copies Chapter 3 Continuous forms Stapled originals Thick paper Wrinkled or dog-eared original 1134O073 * For any of these types of originals, place the original manually on the Original Glass to make a copy. Copying Procedure Loading Standard Size Originals 1 Slide the Document Guide Plate to the size of the originals. * Using the large size originals, flap up the Document Feed Tray Extender. For Originals Not Suitable for Reliable Operation of the Automatic Document Feeder 1 Raise the Automatic Document Feeder and place the original face down on the Original Glass. Align the rear left corner of the original with the marker on the Original Width Scale. Then press the rear edge of the original up against the Original Positioning Plate. NOTES · The maximum number of originals that can be loaded: Letter or smaller: Up to 50 11" × 17" or Legal: Up to 30 · Make sure that the top level of the original stack does not exceed the marking. · Make sure that the Document Guide Plate is in touch with the edges of the original stack. Zoom Ratio Auto Size Mode · The Auto Size Mode can be selected only when the copier is equipped with the Automatic Document Feeder. · In the Auto Size Mode, the copier automatically selects the correct zoom ratio according to the original size and copy paper size.
